Okay, if we’re going to go on the road together we better get a few things straight. First off, even though this book is about my days in the music jizz, I’m not famous.
A tad infamous maybe but not widely known at all. That doesn’t mean I didn’t do anything, it’s just what I did (and people like me did) was secret, invisible, charmed. I’ve also changed most of the names so even if I’m talking about someone or a company you’ve heard of, you’ll still have to do your own informed guesswork.
Second, I’m not a particularly nice person and if I have to worry about whether you like me or not then we’re both wasting our time. Finally, there is no real plot because I refuse to impose a false arc on these events in order to make it all digestible to middlebrow sludge. If you’re fine with all that then read on friend, read on. If not, put the book down and pick up some other post-punk tale of sin and redemption.
You’ll find none of that here, I promise.
